August 27, 2009 "Head" Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:34 AM Today was great. Finished a book. Finishing another with a few pages to go. Need new books. Met this parent & communicated in mandarin with her. It was pretty cool. Then came home, wanted to go for a run but decided to talk to mum. Ended up praying with her. I read Brian "Head" Welch's biography & i just went checking Korn out. Just wanted to see how crazy they were. I ended up youtubing their acoustic versions. Good, Korn is not that "evil". I mean feel... vibe... that kind of thing Going back to "Head", he wakes up and prays 3hrs in the morning and then hit the studio to write songs. Woah! For a new christian... This is something i dug much younger. I still dig it now. Gdnight ((: August 22, 2009 P.S. Metal Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:23 AM One of the few metal bands i listen to. Say hello to Nightwish. Finnish band, female frontal metal band, trademark. For the record, i don't listen to metal. Just nightwish, maybe a few songs from other artiste and that's it. I still prefer another kind of music. Power Symphonic Metal can sound quite good. It's not heavy actually. Check this out Ignore the footages, they are kind of lame. Just listen to the melody. Oh and that girl, is Anette Olzen. New Soprana for the band. Swedish. We love Swedes. Here is another Swede you should know. Hahhs Ole Nightwish Gdnight now August 17, 2009 The best bet Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:31 AM Dear friends, i just prayed. Feels on top of the whole. Lately i have been praying the very fundamental Lord's Prayer & it is interesting how fresh it is. I know some of you recite it in chapel and it's boring, but there is freshness in it, at least i think, if you are willing to find some freshness in it. Just 2 things and i'm gone. 1) The dilemma about attendance Truth is, it goes up, stays up, then goes down sometimes. If we are doing what we are doing when it is going up and staying up also when it is going down and staying down, then it is beyond whether we did our jobs or not. Maybe in 1 month, 3wks was good and 1wk wasn't. For all you know, that 1wk something changed, but then it's very rare. I do believe 1wk makes a difference but i think it's very rare. So good to be cautious. Be on the toes all the time. But then it is fine. Logically, stats would show the percentage of good attendance v.s. percentage of bad attendance. It is 75% v.s. 25%. As a leader, people you lead can get thrown off just by 1wk. We work hard to keep the momentum because it is the more securing and affirming but when it's rocky for a week it is rocky for a week. We cannot be thrown off. It is 3 v.s 1. Panic will arise, but don't let it throw you off, just move on. Faith is moving on. Deal with it, if there is any to be dwelt with and then move on. Most of the time, i've realized, nothing is done and then it goes up again. HAHA Dealing with it, those actions just makes us feel better though they also have a good effect to make everything feel tighter. 2) Information brings security Spiritual information is revelation. Sometimes uncertainty arises in our hearts and it just takes us over like that, this can be avoided when you habitually run after Jesus. When you are lost, you need information. You're quite okay with no solutions really, but you will cry without information of where you are at. Information brings security. When you have no revelation, you have no security. It's not as if you are doing bad, or backsliding. It's just normal because you don't have spiritual information that you can rely on. Life can get a little bit easier when you make it a habit to reach God. That's it. I just think faith is a decision. Discouragement may come, facts brings discouragement. You can feel discouragement. You can ignore discouragement. I will embrace the facts, cold hard brutal, smile, do something about it and move. But i will not feel discouraged. When you are discouraged, wind it back, remember the point you felt that emotion rush into your heart. You could have chose not to allow it to happen. As a leader, many times you just smile and move on. Dom spoke about prayer. Pray! You will align your heart and you will keep going on. More spiritual information will make you more secure as a leader and you will spiral upwards. Just have faith. It's the best bet. I desire to be like little children. I desire to be whom the Son chooses to reveal the Father. I desire that You give me rest. I desire to be gentle & humble in heart that i may find that rest. I desire to keep doing Your Work I desire to build Your House Teach me to be gentle and humble at heart. When i am, i will find rest. Weariness and burdensome will became easy & light. My soul will be lifted. You will be revealed in my life. And that is Your pleasure. My God seeks pleasure when i find rest in Him. I love my Jesus. August 11, 2009 Beautiful Monday Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:11 AM Monday, today or yesterday? was awesome. B Zone Stayover. Lots of talk, lots of dead bodies early into the night. Long weekend perhaps. B Zone Buffet. No zone without food. hahaha, benny neo came and flashed me a smile that warranted a simple sweet question "benny.... do you want to eat.." stupid boy! So sly! Breakfast with a gang. Yeesiong, Noel, Amelia + SA guys etc. We ate KFC on the floor in church. I remembered finishing my food and there was a huge cloud of a blank. The next thing i saw was Cherie and Felicia walking past. I was barely awake. I have no memory what happened after that. I sneaked up on Jordan and Weize. They looked like they'd been to dreamland. Then i hung out with Benny & Leona & Benny entertained us well. There were numerous times we had no clue what in the world he was talking about. But it was funny. Later SA guys, Caleb + Benny & I hung out in the office and there was mayhem. Hell broke loose. Everyone was wrestling everyone. Check out my facebook profile for pictures. Those are alot of the aftermath. We ever have one post mayhem video with them studying. I rushed to grandma's house. She bought wanton noodles from some place that i've got to find out. It's too nice. Then back home and off to play basketball. Soccer beats Basketball. I'm tired, goodnight & goodbye. Tonight i sleep with images of beautiful people in my mind.
