The Feel Good Factor Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 10:03 PM The aircrafts stealth above in the sky and maneuver through the clouds. I feel like an aircraft just cutting through the air, flying right and fast to target. All the mind's up to, is the war. Focused, Vigilant, Ready in the spirit just to go on, to wherever commanders lead us to war. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy is like the cut. It's like the climax of the dogfight, got enough of dogging in the air, it's the final straw, you simply finishes it off. Joy is the clinical we potentially have. Life is full of resistance. The reticence of many things can dread. It can feel very dog fight. Get's a little bit tough. Get's a little bit all over the place. The things of life can literally stymie our quest for destiny. I've come to realize that it just happens to be like that. Life has a very doggy nature. Ministry gets doggy. And i think i need some kind of karma sometimes to win the dogfights. My karma is my joy i've realised. It all comes down to joy. Joy will bring strength. It's very simple. Offense, Jealousy, Dislike... Tiredness, Fatigue, Laziness... You can name it all, but as long as you have joy, you thank God for life, thank God for the components, the people, the blessings, count them more than you count the curses, you realize that you step up a plane. You move from 1 star to 2 star. From good to great. When i am full of joy , strength comes into my heart, for me personally, it is easy to be merciful. It is easy to fit in, it is easy to understand, it is easy to just smile and let God. I've just learned this recently and it has helped me. Be yourself. Get joy. Joy has totally taken away the noises in my heart and it can do the same for you. Praise the people around you. Love the people around you. Bring some romance, spice and oil. Speak life. Affirm. Smile. Hit them on the back. Give them the \m/ sign (HAHA) The many times you choose to have joy and countless times you just smile and walk on will spawn a ripple effect of blessing & that's how you just keep on being more happy, more positive, more joyful. Now, you are an even more doggy fighter than the fighter jet. Joy is like a door, a conduit to another realm. The more you feel good, the better you get at feeling good and more often than not, most of the time, you end up feeling very very good. I love Jesus. July 14, 2009 Our Dilemmas Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:27 PM Blogs should glorify God. Here we go... 1) Power of Choice One of the most powerful things that God has given us is the power of choice. In giving us the power to choose, He placed our destiny is our own hands. Yes, God has a plan for us like our parents have a genuine good plan for us. But remember we have the power of choice. We are alter destiny. Choice is very powerful, because in choice there is the potential of everything. If you can think it and then you do it, you will achieve it. If you think evil, choose to do evil, you will achieve evil. This is same for doing good. Genesis 1:28-29 - God gave Adam dominion, He wants Adam to fill the earth and subdue it. In giving this command, He gave Adam the power of choice. It was at default. God didn't tell Adam exactly how to have dominion, but He gave Adam a brain. Later Adamn named the animals. He chose how to categorize them, He chose the names of his children. He could choose not to obey. When God speaks to us in anyway. By default He gave us the power of choice, this is what empowering means. This empowerment, comes in our choices. He gave us to power of choice to choose to do this and that to overcome a particular situation we are in. God can tell me, you can overcome this trial. When He says that, empowerment is released over my life. I can choose to overcome or not. Solutions follow if i choose to. 2) A Covenant In bringing Jesus Christ to save us, God established the Order of Melchizedek. When Abraham was on the way home after a battle, Melchizedek the Priest King, said to be the ruler of Israel at that time met with him and blessed him. The significance of this is that Melchizedek took 2 offices. A Priest & A King. Google Order of Melchizedek or type Melchizedek in biblegateway or crosswalk & you find that people like King David pray & praise God in mention of the Order of Melchizedek. This order is like a standard. Adam sinned, He was supposed to be the Priest King. So as early in Genesis, God brought Melchizedek & He blessed Abraham. Blessings in the old testament ain't just words. They speak of promises & covenant. So God made the covenant He made with Adam with Abraham since Adam sinned. The heart of God is that He is a redeemer. Once we fall out of line, walk out of His plan for us by exercising wrong choices, He redeems us. So out of Abraham, came Jesus who is our Priest King. You then read in the Bible, that we are called to be like Jesus. A royal priesthood. Kings & Priest. (Exodus 19 - God spoke to Moses) (1 Peter 2:9) Firstly, God loves us so much that when Adam made a wrong choice, He redeemed the promise He gave to the human race through Adam by reestablishing it with Abraham. Secondly, the speed of which this happened was amazing. READ YOUR BIBLE!!! The flood took place, and a new beginning in the reestablishment. God was urgent about getting it right. So when we make a wrong choice, God's redeeming heart causes Him to mysteriously tie your destiny back to Him. God created us to worship Him. We are His beloved creation. So that is why, no matter what bad mistake we've made, wrong choices we've made, He opens a way, a possibility back to Him. In this case, He leads Melchizedek to meet Abraham to bless him & reestablish the promise to the human race. You can see Melchizedek's blessing at Genesis 14. After that, you don't hear of Melchizedek anymore. Melchizedek came for one sole purpose. Look how much God loves us. Through Melchizedek, God established a sign that the Messiah will be in-like image to Melchizedek. A Priest & A King. Jesus is our High Priest. He is our King. 3) Navigating through the Covenant Look at what happened when God was angry at Israel. Look at Sodom & Gomorrah. But a prayer of a man - Abraham, changed the outcome. In numbers 11, 12, 13, the prayer of Moses changed the intentions of God towards His people. Choices are powerful. They can alter destiny. So many times, the destiny of the Israelites was altered. That is why we need to pray! More than a relationship, when we pray we are exercising the power of choice. But if we break the covenant, God always reestablish another. There's so many covenants in the bible that i don't know of! Mosaic, Davidic, Pastor Shearer taught us this before. 4) A Creator's Heart Many people confuse God's plan. They think God is a dictator. We know the nature of God that He is not a dictator. When God tells us in the 10 commandments, He just said for example thou shall not lie. He didn't say lie in what situation, how much lack of truth then will it be considered lying. God is not a dictator. Similiarly, God knew us from the beginning, He has a plan for us. But that plan can change according to our choices. So it's not to say, that God already knew we will fail, so why create us in the first place? Why even let us fail? It all comes down to this one thing that no man can prove. It is down to how much we believe that God is good. The Bible can tell you so, but it is whether we believe that God is good. If we don't believe that God is good. Then the fact that there can be predestined failures make sense to you. So what i said 2 paragraph before would be true to you. You would believe that God already knew we would fail and do nothing about it. So it's really up to what you believe in. A Creator would only want the best for the creation. If you're right to say that God knew & predestined for us to fail. Then He might as well not create us. If nokia would to create handphones that the handphones will not function as handphones, they will not in the first place create the handphone. They would only create a device that would live up to its purpose. If not, it is only logical that there will be abuse. If a handphone doesn't live up to its purpose, i will use it as calculator, a hammer, anything... Nokia would only create handphones only when there is already a foundation of satelites, etc. Then handphones will be usable. If not, a handphone will fail. So likewise for God. He would not create us, if there is no foundational possibility that we can walk into success, etc. God is not unreasonable. If He created us, He would give us all a way to success. That "way" is the word - Potential. We have potential inside of us. If there's no potential, why create us??? We've got the "way" inside of us. Adam could be dominion because He had the potential, the "way" inside of Him. It was created into our being. The power of choice was created into our being. So i hope you understand the creator's heart. Even if a handphone isn't working, it doesn't mean it has no potential to function like one. It just means, something is wrong & we need to fix it to communicate with the satelite. For us, it's the same. We could make wrong choices that takes us out of line. But you can always get back. It doesn't mean we don't have the ability to. We just need to find that ability. That ability is in our choices. I hope you get it. 4) Enveloping Principle MAny people think that God is at war with the devil. No, the devil comes to steal, kill & to destroy. (John 10:10) The intent of God was not to make the devil. But it was to make Lucifer, an arch angel. It was lucifer's choice to turn against God. Let how we all have a choice to walk away from God & God doesn't stop it. You must understand, it is not in God's nature to force us. The number 666. Is not the number of devil. It is associate to the devil. But it is the number of mankind. No where in the Bible does it say God is on equal terms with the devil & that God has His army & the devil has his & they are in a head to head battle. The head to head battle is not between God and the devil. The head to head battle is between God & Man. The devil is just an advocate. You've got to understand what advocate means. So God can really destroy the devil just like that. God can even destroy us. But God doesn't destroy us because He made a promise through & to Adam. He loves us. He says His creation is good! The devil is a sabotage. He is a handphone trying to be bigger than the mind behind the handphone. The number 666 means this... this is the nature of 666. In the Bible it says, God gave us charge over the angels. This proves further, it's not God versus devil. 666 is the name of man. 666 means the carnality of man which is the opposite of the spiritual nature of God. So demon worshippers don't worship the devil, the devil is not their god. The devil is their advocate, their accomplice because man have power over angels, satan was an ex angel, lucifer. So what am i saying? I'm saying... 1) Understand what Judgement is I don't know much. This is whatever i know... I want to go to bible school to be able to tell you more. Likewise, you don't know much. When you judge, the nature of judgement is such that you must know everything. You only judge when you know everything. That is why we don't judge. The Bible teaches us not to judge not because it wants to tell us to be humble. That's just a by product. The main purpose is very practical. You only judge when you know everything. Do i know everything? NO. And you don't know everything too. That is why christians shouldn't fight with non christians when they doubt God because not even christians know everything. The same vice versa and the same for anything and everything else. 2) Beliefs The most complex words, theories, explanations, explains the simplest things. There is also simple explanations for the same simple things. But i don't know why we would not heed simple explanations. After all, i believe it is down to what you believe in. You believe that God is good. Or you believe that God is partially good or not at all. That basis will determine everything else. So it is what you belief in. So really it is up to you. You have your choices. Choices are very powerful. Decisions are very powerful. Before i go. When you have doubts, try this. Ask yourself question this question - Am i actively finding out more about or figuring out that particular subject that i have doubts about? If no, then you don't really genuinely doubt. You're not looking for answers... You're looking for something else... Then answering questions have no use or purpose. I love you all. I love my life. I love my God ever more. The simplest & hardest thing to do, is to, just, believe. Believe and you would be saved. Now you know why God made the gospel so simple. July 12, 2009 Historymaking Aftermath Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 11:11 PM Just got home from church. We spent 3 amazing days in church. Dr Bernard, Pst Jaamaal, Pst Kong & ours truly Pst How & Pst lia. It was a great time. So much was taught. I'm so pumped up. We belong to a great church. When Pst How wrapped up the session today, it was over the top. The euphoria of scoring a goal, hitting a home run, nailing at shot. Also, it felt like ftms once again. When we cheered, when we sang, when we responded. We've got something special here. We are such a great church. Just a few thoughts raging in my mind. You & i belong to the greatest team. Uniformity, Unity & Union. Today we learned to embrace differences. Different levels of society & different walks of life united in character for the glory of Christ, for the kingdom of God. In a marriage, in that partnership, Pst How said it is best expressed what a Union is. The church is married to Jesus. We're in a Union. He is our partner. Now i can run, friday's sermon feels new again understanding Unions today. We're sent out & we've got a partner, an accomplice. I love my life. God has His timing. 1yr 4months of army left. gdnight, see you soon July 10, 2009 'Losers' for Christ Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 1:20 AM Hey, gdnight & 5 things 1) Good gets better I love my life. Days just get better. More positive, more God, more promise, more potential, more passion & more solid. God is a good God, i can tell you that from within my heart. Been encountering Him at a new level. Feeling Him at a new level. Understanding His mind & heart at a new level. 2) People What about that? I forgot... 3) Good Day Tomorrow is going to be a good day. Historical for our church. We'll remember the smell of the air forever. Also in camp, my officer wants to play badminton. We get a break from the work. He's being posted out & we'll have a small party. 4) Future Today Pastor Lia trained new preachers. That is so exciting. Do you know what that means to Pastor Lia? Do you know what that means to the kingdom of God? It should get you excited. 5) Gossip Girl I caught gossip girl in camp. That was on the table so i just watch it. I had a good time laughing at the brainless jokes and 'wowing' at the incredible scandals. But, i also learn... Losing is winning sometimes. Winning is losing sometimes. Until you know about Blair & Chuck, you will not get it. Today, the HS told me, losing can lead you into your destiny. With a little bit of that losing, you stumble into your destiny. Lose a little bit of face, a little bit of that... This is the only good 'losers' mentality. Come to camp with me, people there are very nice. Bunch of 'losers'... Not in a Jesus way or by Jesus or for Jesus. But very broken... We talk like we knew each other for years. Maybe that's why we all enjoyed gossip girl together. They ain't christian & they are so so humble.... Gdnight, turn off the machine, go to bed. July 6, 2009 Melo-dy Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 6:36 AM There's something about mornings that keep your spiritual senses wide awake. You are more plugged in. I'm in camp, and it ain't a good idea for me to be blogging but since it's a good morning, why not? I've read in numbers about the prayer of moses when the israelites refuse to step into canaan. It is very interesting, they actually refused. They had a choice. Choice is the most powerful thing God ever gave to us. There were 2 things about the prayer moses prayed that caused God to relief His anger and grievances and move in the word of moses. Man, i want to be that kind of a man. Don't you want to? Pray & God moves in agreement. Some people would have thought otherwise, how can a man's prayer influence God? Haha, it is very interesting. Later, they entered into canaan after a series of events. Very interesting again. I dug the word. It is amazing. Even better than digging Transfomers... I want to be a leader that prays & move God's heart in prayer. Don't you want to really? On a random note, Felipe Melo is 'close' to signing for Arsenal. If anything else, Mathieu Flamini may return to Ashburton Grove! Ivan Gazidis can make about something. Felipe Melo is good. Reminds me of Gilberto Silva. Check out Lorik Cana on youtube. July 2, 2009 What i like & dislike about the quarantine Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:25 PM Oh yeah... you totally had me. Quarantined for 3 days, you win hands down. You shouldn't quarantine me for 3 days ever again. See... i get very mad after that. I'm kidding but i definitely don't like staying at home for 3 days straight. Come on... God is so good during this 3 days. Well, it ends tomorrow. I'll be back in camp tomorrow. Who cares, i'll be back with people tomorrow. I think that's about it. Nah, 3 days quarantine is not that bad. Just that i've planned a lot of outings, to meet people and visit schools. So it cuts out my work. Other than that, i really like stay home. After all, i'm a homie boy. I don't like parties... One last day to party on my own, see you on friday & you won't believe how recharged i am.
