The little things that made the difference
Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:14 AM

I bet we all had a great weekend. It was so good to have Pastors back with us.
Having them take the stage was so good. How can we live without them for more than 3 weeks? Totally miss the anointing.

The DNA sermons preached quite some time back brought back a couple of memories. It was particularly pleasing to hear them all again & still so fresh. Feels like all of you are really inspired & i'm excited for you as well.
Cheryl just told me Evonne Chia had a great meeting with the ACS Barker group and Caleb & Justin was really encouraged & totally challenged. That just means Evonne is dead amazing. I'll ask what she shared, our guys are so pumped up. Man, we're really taking the schools...

I am looking forward to the next 2 weekends. Pst Kent Munsey & Pst Dr AR Bernard.
I'd wish to listen to Pastor How straight away! Those who endure to the end shall be saved. After all that, we'll have Pastor How for AE & i heard him say this year's AE is going to be very mind-blowing. We've got to start talking to our parents and friends about it already!

A couple of the leaders are going to watch "I LOVE YOU, MAN" now. It is really funny. I think they'll enjoy it! Hope they all have fun after a long day's work.

During soccer today, Charleston rammed the ball into Leona's face. He told me just now he went blanked for 3 seconds. The funny thing was that i was telling Jian Ming 3 seconds before the incident that it might actually happen & there we go 3 seconds later. We rushed to Leona to try to help him, but it was so hilarious i lied down beside him laughing and catching my breathe.

Today was particularly encouraging beyond the sermon preached. Jing Yi did her first ever follow up & it was amazing. It was only good because she really prepared. I saw her notes... She typed out everything we is going to say. Weiling told me that she called her the night before and made Weiling check through it with her to ensure it is good. She was really captivating today. Great revelations & connection. Home Run Follow Up!

Kumar is discharged. Right away, he's back in church. He's on fire. And i'm so happy that Darren Lee is taking so much care of Kumar & Vicki. They go beyond all the physical inconvenience to change 2 lives. Amazing

Debbie brought this boy she knew through Interact Club @ Anderson JC, she went to Yishun and met this guy, Kenneth who is Sec 1 & he plays volley ball at the home they visited. She then brought him to church. He was terribly nervous, maybe not, just maybe he didn't know what to say to me, but he's amazing.

Then we had discipleship class.

A northbrooks schoolmate came visit us over the weekend. He decided to stay & it's amazing because the seed sown years ago is still in there. Only after 4 years that it is full grown. He even wants to join the CG meetings & you know that is dead serious about God.

Alright, i'll get off & go read my bible. I'm terribly interested, confused & excited about Numbers. Gonna read about the spirit of the living God.
I wish all of you going back to school well & remember to make a difference in your schools.

Tonight i remember how Pastor Lia sowed into our lives when we were younger. I wonder how she did it. Today, 4 of us lead F Zone & we are feeling as if there's so many things. Few years back when we thought Pastor Lia was amazing, it was not amazing. Today we finally have a revelation of what amazing is.

I love zone f. Others. It takes 4 of us to do a Pastor Lia!
So in awe of Pastor Lia.

Well, take care... gdnight, gdbye, remember to catch transfomers & come to church for the next 3 weeks.

God is good.

People start revolutions for weird reasons
Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 1:55 PM

There's a big hoo haa in camp. It is pretty funny, my friend shot himself in the foot. For weird reasons he complained about the quality of the food catered for us in camp. Honestly, it's way good for me, but he thought otherwise.

He told me, he's going to start a revolution. The truth is, it was over a piece of fish that was not up to the standard size. Hilarious. I'll keep my comments to myself but it was very funny how he complained and then the officer questioned him back. He really shot himself in the food.

I wished i could help him. But all we did to make things loosen up was laugh. Now he's a few metres away from us doing the usual trash talking. We've got very interesting people in camp.

"I'M GOING TO START A REVOLUTION"
Wow, He needs to know what kind of a revolution to start.

Let's start a revolution! Just not about food, quality or crappy sizes of your fish meat. Hahhs
We build God's House.
I like his thinking though, "if out of 100, 5 agrees with me, then i've started something".

Well, let me listen to his stories again. Army guys will understand, these stories are really quite interesting and funny. Out of this world. You can't believe it how things turn out.

Transformers, more than meets the eye.
Transformers, robots in disguise.
We heart transformers. Gotta watch it on friday or soon.

Alright that's that, if the papers report "revolution in sembawang camp"
You know that i was there.

Hahaha, i'm sounding like him now.
Oh crap..

Just what i'm all about lately
Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 11:16 PM

After a powerpack week with Pst Troy & Vince, we've all rose to a new level.
Dominic feels it. So does Fifi. I am really excited because i am v blessed myself.
I am also very excited for all of you.
Sometimes pushing our flesh to acquire a spiritual discipline is good. After the camps are over, you start to feel you've entered into a new momentum.
It can be down to one very simple thing called momentum sometimes.

I've been praying a lot lately & God is kind to speak.
I am very happy to keep hearing God.
We've all got to build our ministry on this pillar in our lives.

Zone F service was really exciting. The people were so hungry & they really received everything that was preached.
Pst Troy shared some amazing stories & the main text in Chronicles is amazing.
God is good too to remind me of something He told me in Haggai weeks before.
As a matter of fact, i've been thinking a lot about buildings & houses.
So it was really good for me personally.

Stomach flu was crazy but it was a lot better once i stepped into church.
"The more you loose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have." - Norman Vincent Peale
I guess that summarizes everything.

I miss Pastors dearly. It could have been more perfect with them around to an otherwise already very amazing week.
Next week i'm having my own father's day meal with my dad. I've got some plans.

After every great sacrifice, there is always a breakthrough that follows.
Unequal giving but equal sacrifice, but nowadays, we've got to give something that counts to everyone.
So the level of sacrifice is universal now. At least for us youths this season.

We've got to rise now. The church is built out of us.
A Peter Generation means a lot of things. It's not just identity. That was just the start.
There's the how... in our giving, we need to be the Peter Generation.

I'm glad that there have been a couple of people coming to me and talking about money.

Our sacrifice has to be universal now. If you understand this, it will set you free

passionately in love
Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:44 AM

there's a group of people i am passionately in love with.
this picture shows some of them, you need to meet all of them.
i wish i was with them all the time.

coming back from duty, i squeezed 2 days into 1 today.
i wished i had more time talking to people.
maybe i should get them to talk to me! hahahaha it's easier :p if not i'll just die.
i'd picture conversations the night before alone in camp.
i am passionately in love with what i do.

we had a great camp gb campsite. it took us to new level altogether.
i am so proud of people like yihui, yili, caleb and wing yu.
they were amazing... some stuff got into them and you should talk to them now.
as a matter of fact, yili and yihui gave $50 for their offering.
we are raising a generation of givers.

this whole week has been about zone f. i love them, there is a fresh word God encouraged me about zone f and i am raring to go.

f2 & f3 which is f2 ceg is amazing, we hit a total of 104 in attendance.
b zone 111. we met our 60 days goal. now we're ahead of time and moving onwards.

there's plenty more things happening.

i tell you, as a leader, you've got to keep praying.
helplessly pray. brokenly pray. less of the leader, more of Jesus.
i have been praying over the zones this entire week.

pray for your team, cg and zone.
pray, and also expand, deal with team demons, then cg demons, then zone demons.
one day, national demons, regional demons, continental demons...
can't wait to get there.

my prayer life just boom into a new level.
go breakthrough in your prayer life too.

tonight, i remember the words You've spoken to me.
It keeps me going on...

So much between the 4 of us
Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 1:19 PM

Today is the start of our secondary schools camp. Everyone is pretty excited and so am i. I cannot wait to get there in a few hours time. I can picture the fun those guys are having now.

I had a great pastoral meeting last night. This morning we continued on the phone. The leaders are really hardworking.

Recently, i've just been thinking about a verse.
Psalm 119:11 says that we need to hide the word of God in our hearts so that it keeps us from sin.

The word of God does wonders.
Matthew 16:18
I will build My Church and the gates of hades will not prevail against it.

God, let the leaders decrease in the zone. Let you increase.
Work through us and use us as You will.
Break us, take pride away, so that Your anointing will come.
Lead us into a new realm of authority, anointing and victory.
Increase faith in our hearts because faith overcomes the world.
So give us faith, authority, anointing and victory.
Whatever is born of Christ overcomes the world and we stand on that promise today.

We are going to attack during the zone camps.
The gates of hades - powers, principalities, rulership will not prevail against us.
In the oldern times, kings rule at the gates. Gates are a symbol of authority.
I've heard of spiritual forces against us but i also know the God who is with us.

Enable us God.
I lift this generation into Your hands.

There will be a spiritual awakening.
There will be revelation.
There will be conviction.
There will be an understanding of eternity & a revelation of the cross.
The gates of hades will not stand against these.

You will build Your church and it will come to past because You have overcame hades when You rose from the dead.

Lord, take the wheel, be in the driver's seat.
I'm yours.
We're yours.
I believe that the 4 of us are a different breed.

We are called... You know our names, those under the earth know our name.
We will make a difference.
I love the zone f team (:

Gonna pray now, gdbye

Self Inflicted Snare
Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 2:09 AM

Offense. Pride. Very ordinary and usual. So much so we tend to undermine the snare that they can impose on us.

Usually, after this 2, sin follows.

Offense in the root word = Skandalon
Which means a trapstick or a movable stick with a bait used to catch animals. It signifies that which causes error or sin.

Offense is a trap.

Jesus said in Matthew 16:23 - But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

People get offended easily because usually we are quite proud.
The more proud, the easier to be offended.

Offense is interesting. It puts us on a self justification rout. We point fingers and push the blame. Usually we develop a victim mentality as if people wronged us.
But it's all unreal. Offense is very unreal.
Like fear, offense is unreal.

Just think about it. Out of 10 times, how many times do you really think someone is going for you? Really intentionally trying to provoke you?
I don't think it's more than 2.
People usually ain't that bad. So what more people in church?

People in church, especially our church, are great. You should meet other christians outside our church (: The assurance is that, we all belong to a strong culture.

Offense is unreal. Most of the time it is just pride.
We need to be more humble (:
The Bible says, God resist the proud and haughty in spirit.

Be genuine. Be real. Relax.
You don't belong to a community. You belong to the church of God.
If we don't trust the church, where truth is upheld, Jesus is proclaimed and the cross held aloft then you won't trust anyone else.
It's quite logical. And it's insane to think you will trust someone or something else.

So don't trap yourself. Instead, be mindful of the things of God. That releases you, try it, you think of the macro God thing and you feel less easily offended.

Well, at the end of the day, even if someone really went for us. Let's not be offended because as if what they said ain't bad enough, now we add a trap, mental trap, emotional trap and a spiritual trap. We put a ceiling over us. We box ourselves into those words.

Lastly, usually when you get to this state, sin follows after.

The bait of satan is offense. Offense will reap a mind focussed on the things of the world. A mind focussed on the things of the world will result in a ceiling. A ceiling will cause you to feel frustrated. Frustration will reap sin.

Don't let offense cause you to sin.
It's not worth it.
It is like, a big time sabotage. People just move their mouths and we get locked up in chains. HAHA... not worth it.

Be free. Be humble.
Character is most important. Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it springs the issues of life.
Character is most important. Guarding it is worth you sacrificing a lot.

Let's be broken.
After all, when you are broken and humble. The anointing of God comes upon your life.
You become effective. You have an x factor about you.

Life is too precious to be placed in another's words.
Our destiny is determined by God, by us.
Say no to offense... haha

Built to Last
Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 1:36 AM

Today is Friday. Don't you like it that the weekend is here? We're back to doing it all over again. Weekend, then weekend. And, that sounds pretty challenging. Yet fun. But good.

Why good? Mundane is good. At least we have consistency. Sometimes, just sometimes, ad hoc irritates you. Primarily because there is no gauge. Gauge is quite important. We, Man we like numbers, scales, percentages, stuff like that. Without these, at least i feel rather insecure.

The tip then, to make a man happy, gauge. No surprises? Maybe for some!
Be consistent, and don't sway to the left and to the right. It is highly irritating.
We can react, like uranium.

Not missing out the army camp. It's pretty senile. Pretty interesting conversations.
One guy asked me which concert i would prefer between Wondergirls & Pussycat Dolls.
That's not a hard decision at all. Of course, none.

But in camp, just recently, i got to appreciate all of that. And i found myself humming "i want nobody nobody but (NOT YOU) ME" to myself. hahahahaha... i just won't sing that song. hahaha

So that's that, a crazy week in camp. routine camp crap work plus crap conversations. I remember the only ones i enjoyed was about church, purpose in life and soccer.

And i was really on the phone a lot this week. We need to invent something more interactive than smses, but not that crazy like phonecalls. Anyway?

F Zone camp is next week. I'm on a mission.

Dear God, please help me build to last (:

Now i'm rushing home to pen down everything for tomorrow pastoral meeting.

F zone camp is coming up. There are a pretty few things up too.

Feeling inspired now. Pumped up and ready to go.

Prayer was good.

Widen our canopy. I need to find out abt canopies and roots. There's something abt that.

I just bumped into alvina d10 on the train. She is my neighbour.

Can't wait to get home.
Serving God is fun, exciting and honorable.

Ivan 'Vern' Poh from URL @ 12:49 AM

I love my Pastors. They set me on the right path each time. They have the ability to open up a new road in my mind.

Always do what your leaders tell you to do. Ain't doing them a favour, you're just doing it God's way by doing it their way. It's a principle we all need to understand.

Hahhs i've figured it out so many times with Pastors. Run after the man and woman of God, and God will run after you.

I've not even arrived, will never be. Yet I do so many things. I can't tell you how privileged and honored we are to be considered as the senior leadership of heart of God church. Well, more honored to be considered the team behind Pastors. At 20, 21 and all the way to 25, we have it all.

Listen, we have it all. Our, my great life is in front of me.

I'm just dead grateful towards my Pastors. There is a verse that sums it all up, but we need to be mature to understand it so not now (:

So many things to say.Glad I'll spend eternity with my Pastors. I'm just one of those that got it right.

So so many things to say but goodnight for now (:

They sing "the world at your feet".
Watch us make a difference (:
