it's Your song that sets me free

starting posts has always been a hassle. so let's get straight into it.
i am going to get 'blackbird' soon. that it's. period.

creed has christian roots so you get what i mean. main singer, scott stapp grew up christian and attended a christian college but he backslided and turned away from God like crap. he's very controversial & very over the edge. basically he messed up his life & was no longer quite influential. i thought when i was younger, this was going to be a Bono alike.

"When his mother had been remarried for six months, Scott overslept at a friend's house, missing church, and then went with the friend's family to a nude beach. That evening he was spanked for the first time. Scott realized that he was in a new world of discipline. As he got older, the spankings decreased and copying out passages from the Bible replaced them. One punishment would be to write out a different Proverb each day for a month, along with a commentary to show that he had thought about and understood it. His father would check the commentary -- if the spelling, grammar or sense fell short, Scott would have to rewrite it."

"For several of these years he didn't speak to his father. "He had made the determination that I didn't have Christ in my life," says Stapp. He decided he would show his father by making it his way. His mother would send him care packages with canned food in them, but Stapp was determined not to ask for anything. He was going to pay his way through college, and he was going to become a rock star. Or a lawyer. "I figured I had to have a Plan A and a Plan B," he says."

great voice like anything man... great background maybe just a little extreme.
hated his father and destined for failure then.
went into all that sex, drugs and crap.
he's a nobody presently.

so creed was dead. now alterbridge with alittle more sanity to it.
mark tremonti whom i thought was every mutt's favourite guitarist up till this day luh.
but drummer scott phillips is good! like red rain drummer... but tons tons more experienced and professional. multi-talented, plays keyboards, etc.
all drummers can double up, like coldplay's will champion.
yeah so you get the drift... hong hwee can bv playing drums too. so that makes him great.

this below are lyrics of some of alterbridge's songs:
Looking back I clearly see
What it is that's killing me
Through the eyes of One I know
I see a vision once let go
I had it all

Constantly it burdens me
Hard to trust and can't believe
Lost the faith and lost the love
When the day is done

Will they open their eyes
And realize we are one
On and on we stand alone
Until our day has come
When they open their eyes
And realize we are one

I love the way I feel today
But how I know the sun will fade
Darker days seem to be
What will always live in me
But still I run

It's hard to walk this path alone
Hard to know which way to go
Will I ever save this day
Will it ever change

Blah Blah so on and so forth...
One more... this is more powerful:
And to the ones in which we sing,
We are honored you let us in
I remember the thoughts of many things,
Of the glory that you bring

I was never the right one to dare to dream,
It's funny what this life has done to me now
You were always the only,
To help me see there was a road I must find,
A road that was mine

But I'm down to my last,
I'm standing here alone
Looking back, on it all
But I'm down to my last,
I'm ready but I'm wrong,
And I'm blind to it all

And to the world to which we sing,
Want to try to do us in
I remember your name and I know your face
Can't forgive and can't erase

I was never the right one
To bear the weight of something fueled by words
I'd learn to hate
You were always the only
To help me see that to love is to shine
In your world, blind

But I'm down to my last
I'm standing here alone
Looking back on it all
But I'm down to my last
I'm ready but I'm wrong
And I'm right to it all

But I'm down to my last
Well I'm ready but I'm wrong,
And I'm scared of it all
But I'm down to my last
I'm ready but I'm wrong
And I'm blind to it all
But I'm down to my last
And I'm ready but I'm wrong
And I'm blind to it all

Yeah that's it... much more in my face for this one.
i'm not entering into what this is all about. i hate reading blogs where people put up lyrics and start talking about them. so yeah i won't do that.

i've been hearing Viva La Vida playing throughout the stores and almost every place that i go to.
alright now, it is a nice song but it is not that brilliant musically anyway.
or was that the song Chris Martin says to be the best song in the world? but whatever...

i just know one thing. it is HIS song that will set me free.
when you feel all that way some song lyrics go or tell you to feel, crap that.
they make alot of sense to me too & it is so real... so real that people like us would listen to them more.

so this is what i think, we need christian songs that are real. real life. real feelings. praise and worship but unconventional! modern sounding with diff guitar sounds and different singing techniques, you'll have the rocker voice, pop voice, whatever luh.
these songs creates so much identity and connection.

at the end of the day, it is our song that will set us free.
your song diff from mine. mine diff from yours.
it's our song for God that sets us free.
our diff expressions, our diff cries & praises.

we all sing a different song, a new song, each time different in expression but that is what is beautiful about it. it becomes His song.

& only only our song turned His song will set us free.
